According to a consideration of the current situation of journalists and media in the country; Afghanistan Journalists Council, Journalists Coordination Center and Afghanistan Journalists Support Fund is strictly asking for the implementation of the following issues:

  1. Despite of journalistic and governmental organizations efforts and strives in struggling violence against journalists but unfortunately there is no stop of violence against journalists. Afghanistan journalists rights defense organizations is seriously is asking the judicial and justice organizations of Afghan government for reviewing the documents of the executors of violence against journalists and assign their punishments according the law of Afghanistan so that to be a lesson  for others and an encouragement for journalists to spread the information accurately and well.
  2. Journalists Safety Procedure contains many problems and it seems to be made in relationship and private interests. The article 4 and 18 of this procedure should be changed as they have caused many problems. Afghanistan Journalists Council and Afghanistan journalists rights defense organizations  for the completion of the procedure suggest that the mentioned procedure should be verified by journalists support centers so that to help the safety of journalists.
  3. Despite of being ratified of law of access to information by president and its implementation in the country there are still many sources including government and non-governmental organization deny giving information to journalists. According to the information of journalists given to Afghanistan Journalists Council in Zabul Province; national army and police are cooperation journalists in the mentioned province but unfortunately the office of Zabul province has commanded the provincial officials to avoid giving interview with journalists. Afghanistan Journalists Council and journalists’ rights defense centers are seriously asking the government authorities for the implementation of the law of access to information in capital and provinces as the provincial reporters are affected by governors that is why there are some problems in their news reports.

With Respects,

The leading corps of Afghanistan Journalists Council, Journalists Coordination Center and Afghanistan Journalists Support Fund
